Friday 11th March
We have had issues with Locum Doctors not turning up to their planned and pre booked clinics. This means moving appointments around to ensure all patients that are booked into these clinics are seen where this is possible. In doing this it does reduce the amount of 6pm released next day appointments. We can't apologise enough for this and we can assure you we are doing all we can to try to make the situation better but understandably some of these circumstances are out of our control. We thank you for your co-operation.
Monday 29th Feb
We would like to apologise to all our patients as we are unable to offer same day appointments at the moment. We are needing to use Locum GP's to cover the high demand of appointments and the next pre-book will be in 2 weeks. We are currently advertising for a GP to join the practice but no applications have been received.
Again sorry for any inconvenience caused.

NEW UPDATE - The surgery are now taking part in electronic prescriptions. All you need to do is nominate your local pharmacy and then instead of picking your script up from the surgery it will go straight to them! For more details please ask your chosen pharmacy or one of the reception staff.
NAMED ACCOUNTABLE GP
All registered Patients at the practice have a named G.P who is responsible for the patients overall care at the practice. Patients should contact the practice should they wish to know who this is or have a preference as to which gp this is, the practice will make reasonable efforts to
accommodate this request.
This does not affect any care patients currently receive at the practice, patients can continue to see the G.P of their preference and this does not have to be their named G.P.
The Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Podiatry service are now trialling out of hours weekday appointments for Diabetic Annual foot screens which we hope will help those patients who struggle to attend for their screening during normal working hours.
Leigh Health Centre – Tuesdays 5pm till 8pm
